How we build
a road.
Five steps, each one checked before the next begins. That is why an Apase estate road still looks new years later.
- 1
Clear and level the ground
Topsoil and roots come out, then heavy rollers press the earth firm so nothing sinks later.
- 2
A firm bed of red laterite
Laid in thin layers and pressed hard, strong enough to carry loaded trucks.
- 3
Crushed stone foundation
Sharp stones lock together and spread the weight, so the road does not crack.
- 4
Drains and kerbs
Rain runs off into lined drains on both sides: no flooding, no potholes.
- 5
Smooth surface and road lines
The asphalt or concrete you drive on, finished with lines and signs.

We build the road
before the house.
